The Food of Thailand

I invite you to The Food of Thailand.
A land of smells, colors and tastes you never thought you should discover!

Photos taken by T-spotter (iphone 4 and Canon EOS 650d)

Juicy lemongrass salad w/ chicken and cashews

The most delicious mango I've had in my entire life. Oh just look at the reflections, the orange color...

Puffed rice crackers, fried and kept together by honey and sesame. One of my favorites in the heat down south of Thailand

Mmmm! "Birds Egg" - very light and crispy sweet potato balls - slightly fried and thrown up in the air

"Birds Egg" close-up bite cam

What a combination: Thai hotdogs (sausage in a sweet pancake) and crispy pancakes with coconut cream filling
The pancakes from above - close-up
Large bordeaux grapes right from the fields

Glutinous rice balls w/ brown melted caramel inside and grated fresh coconut

Glutinous rice snacks of different sizes, shapes and taste

The master of glutinous rice cakes

... her work... So delicate and slimy!

Soft coconut cakes

Another pancake variant. This one has grated coconut and cream - when you order you can add green taro cream! YUMMY

Thai Dim-Sum w/ shrimp

No words. No questions. Just try it - it's good for you, very rich in proteins for example

My GF is exploring a food stand

Fried Won-Ton's w/ shrimps

Tofu pieces, soy, cashew nuts and vegetables

I can't stop drinking (and eating) this wonder of the world: YOUNG COCONUT

Getting tired...

Clear soup w/ large tiger prawns

The BEST thai salad: healthy, spicy papay-salad

Dead lime fish on a plate

More tofu (the thai's love sauce)

The most famous dish in Thailand: Pad Thai. Fried rice noodles w/ eggs, peanuts, soy, shrimps, bean sprouts, chili and sugar. Really tasty, cheap and easy to grab when passing by on a scooter

My beautiful GF lifting the worlds biggest fruit: The Jack Fruit (the fruit that tastes of heavy cream!!!)

Fish ball sticks. Nut my favorite, but I always seem to buy them as the look so inviting - don't you agree?

"Snake Fruit" (take a look at the skin) or "Salak".
This is actually indonesian, well I mean they grow in thailand but the indonesian ones are much more tasty. Bought them from muslims at a thai market

Chips on sticks - great idea

Small Nam-Nam and my GF are ready for Thailand Cooking Class

Our homemade Green Curry

Our homemade Pad Thai

The thais always gives the food their own touch - like this omelet clearly shows. Love it!

One more coconut, I invite you to take a sip

Impressive cake table in Bangkok

Oreo maringue cake w/ cream

Bon appétit. "Aroi Maak Maak".
